Steve has called Little Rock home since 2014. Before that he lived in Louisiana, Texas, and Bolivia, South America. Steve has music degrees from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and the University of Houston. He was a band director and a minister of music for eleven years, then served in international mission work for eight years. Music, ministry, and missions continues to be his focus.
Steve’s playing experience includes multiple jazz bands in each state he has lived in. Playing in bands that featured jazz greats Bill Watrous, Joe Williams, Jack Jones, and Rex Richardson is a highlight of his playing career.
Since moving to Little Rock, Steve has played both alto and tenor saxophone in the Dave Rosen Jazz Orchestra, Stardust Big Band, Swing Band Reunion, and joined Jubilation Jazz in December 2021.
Steve plans to retire from a five year public teaching career as a Spanish teacher in May
