Bob Shaw grew up in Southern California and began playing trombone in his school band in the 4th grade.  While in high school he played in concert band, marching band and jazz band, participating in many jazz festivals in the Southern California area.  He has also been very active in church music ministries throughout the years, including children's music ministries and church orchestra.

Throughout his life Bob has been very active in many musical groups including the Jack Mitchell Big band and the Bella Vista Big Band.  He has played in many musical shows throughout the years at the Arkansas Public Theater and the Arts Center of the Ozarks. In addition to Jubilation Jazz, he is currently actively involved in the Arkansas Winds Community Concert Band, NWA and More Jazz Orchestra, and Naturally Brass.  Bob worked in the Information Systems Department for Walmart for 16 years and currently is working in the Information Systems for Washington County.
