Vick Loftus was born and raised in Jonesboro, AR.  He graduated from Jonesboro High School and attended Arkansas State University as a music education major.  He took an immediate liking to the trumpet when he began playing in the seventh grade.  He has played in various church and community orchestras as well as big bands.

Vick chose to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a pilot.  He holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, a Flight Instructor Certificate, and an Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic Certificate.  Vick has spent time as an agricultural pilot, flight instructor, and freight airline pilot.

A few years ago, he decided to concentrate on the trumpet and playing his favorite style of music, big band.
