   Mark Tenney

Trumpet player Mark Tenney, a native of Little Rock, graduated from Mills High School in 1975.  He received his Bachelors and Masters in Music Education from Arkansas Tech University.  He is retired after 33 years of band directing in Lonoke and Cabot. 

 

Mark is a past President of the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association.  He is an elected member of Phi Beta Mu, an honorary band director fraternity, and a member of the American School Band Directors Association.  He has served as a national member at large for the A.S.B.D.A. executive board.

 

Mr. Tenney plays trumpet in the Little Rock Winds, Jubilation Jazz and also plays in the music ministry at Cabot 1st Baptist Church and Russellville 1st Baptist Church.  He has been on mission trips to Brazil, Jordan and Bulgaria.  He is also on the staff of the Arkansas Ambassadors of Music and has toured Europe five times with this group as both a conductor and trumpet player.   

 

Mark is the owner of River Valley Photography and Framing.  He and his wife Denise live in Russellville.  They have two children and six grandchildren.
