Ben “Animal” Higgs, the Muppet Drummer, not Bigfoot, was born on Thanksgiving Day in Wichita, KS a long time ago.  After playing trumpet for several years in school band he was working on his uncle’s farm in Western Kansas when his cousins couldn’t figure out a drum beat.  After showing them how to play it, he discovered God had blessed him with a gift for banging on a drum set. 

 

After failed attempts to become a rock star, Jubilation Jazz took him in off the streets and gave him the opportunity to help spread the Gospel through Big Band Jazz.  (Which is a good thing - since no one wants a bald man for a rock band drummer)!
