James Pianalto is in his 27th year of teaching and his 3rd year at Bryant Public Schools.  His educational mission is to help create good humans through the activity of performing music.  James' obtained his degrees from The University of Central Arkansas, in Conway, and American Band College in Ashland, Oregon.  His professional affiliations include: The Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association, Arkansas Bandmasters Association, Arkansas Jazz Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, American School Band Directors Association and Phi Beta Mu.  James’ professional honors include: National finalist for the Music Teachers National Association Collegiate solo competition, Arkansas Phi Beta Mu Outstanding Young Band Director Award, Who’s Who among American Teachers and Teacher of the Year for his school campus. 

 

Mr. Pianalto has performed as a soloist with The Bella Vista Big Band, The David Rosen Jazz Orchestra, The Little Rock Wind Symphony, The Stardust Big Band, the Tom Tirrato Orchestra and jazz night at the legendary Ohio Club. He currently performs with the Jubilation Jazz Band, spreading the gospel with big band jazz.

 

James is newly married to his wife, Michelle and between them they have six children: Ryan (20), Emma(18), Aidan(16), Mia (12), Aaron (10) and Evan (10)
